David and Jo Henniger, a couple in search of an escape from their less-than-happy lives in London, accept the invitation of their old friends Richard and Dally to attend a bacchanal at their luxurious home deep in the Moroccan desert. But as a drunken David navigates the dark desert roads, a young man springs from the roadside, the car swerves and hits him. Meanwhile, festivities at the house are in full flow. Under the watchful eyes of their Moroccan staff, the extravagant hosts attend to the whims of their glittering, insatiable guests as the party rages on.
